I have always been amazed and thankful for my story-telling gift.  Getting me to allow my characters to tell their story has been a growing process.  Like most humans, I have control issues; never mind we don’t really control anything!  Very early in their development, my characters helped me understand that concept.  Though I fought them, they took control of their own lives.

I have always believed in magick! And monsters! And vampyres! Witches! Warlocks! Ghosts and people from other dimensions!  I don’t ever remember not being fascinated by the occult.  Since I was small I read everything I could about people with special powers, who use those powers for good and for selfish reasons.

Some of my favorite authors are Stephen King, Dean Koonz, and John Saul.  But as I grew older, I longed for that special love that’s unconditional.  So, I added Phyllis Whitney, Daphne DuMarier, Rosemary Rodgers, and Mary Higgins Clark.  Of course, my list continues to grow by leaps and bounds.

So how can a woman who loves witches, vampyres, ghosts, and fairies also love romance?  I didn’t know the answer to that until my son and four grandchildren were born.  I went from being someone who longed for that special unconditional love to someone who enjoys that feeling every day! And I wanted everyone else to have that special feeling too!  That’s why I get up every day with a smile on my face knowing I am living my dream.  Now you know how I came to write paranormal romance.
